Team:  

The Group Product Management team at Monitise is responsible for managing its product strategy and product portfolio at a group level, and acts as the interface between the group team, the strategic accounts and the joint ventures Monitise in different geographies. This team works closely with the other group teams – Group R&D, Sales, Marketing, Strategy & Advisory, Finance and Legal – and is at the heart of a dynamic company that is changing the way people access financial services globally. 

Role: 

The Group Product Manager reports to the Group Product Director, and will assume responsibility for key tasks within the product management function.

 

Description & Responsibilities:   

  • The ideal candidate will be able to understand the trends in the fast-moving mobile payment/mobile commerce market, as well as the exciting developments in mobile technology, and relate these two factors to help shape a strong and market leading mobile money product portfolio.

 

  • The Product Manager will be responsible for contributing to product strategy and roadmap by tracking customer requirements, competitive trends and consumer behaviour. 

 

  • This position is a key contributor to the success of taking the product portfolio to market and key customer engagements – responsibilities include supporting the product sales process, providing input to RFP processes, bid meetings and customer workshops.

 

  • Product Manager will need to hold detailed workshops with both the marketing/ commercial and technology teams of our customers to understand their requirements in detail, and translate these to product plans, requirements documents and work statements that form the basis of commercial contracts

 

  • S/he will create appropriate positioning and communication for each market, and support sales and account teams with collateral and data sheets, as well as support for workshops and commercial proposals  

 

  • S/he will be required to create business cases for specific product deployments and track in-life benefits against such business cases

 

  • At group level, the product manager will be responsible for creating product management processes, documents and templates and will lead key product initiatives assigned to him/her. 

Skills& Experience:  

  1. 8-15 years of experience in any of the following industries – card payments & processing (issuing or acquiring side), retail banking, mobile payments/m-commerce, e-commerce or other closely related industries. A very good understanding of payment processing is desirable.  

 

  1. Experience being part of sales/bid teams for enterprise software is a mandatory requirement. Excellent presentational skills and the ability to hold customer workshops during the sales process are mandatory as well.

 

  1. Specific experience working with large-scale, high-volume enterprise transaction systems such as card processing platforms, core banking systems, telecom billing systems, retail transaction systems or similar.

 

  1. Ability to lead customer workshops and structure detailed requirements documentation and gain sign-off from key stakeholders  

 

  1. Experience/understanding of user experience, UX design, usability management for web and/or mobile. Also, understanding of software architecture principles will be an advantage.

 

  1. Experience in working with project managers, architects, analysts and in producing product requirement documents and reviewing solution overviews, high level designs and project implementation plans

 

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ideal candidate should be skilled in using productivity tools like MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio and in producing high quality documents

 

  1. Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment which demands quick thinking and a problem-solving approach. A good team player.  

 

  1. Understanding of and experience in the enterprise software market would be a huge plus, especially in the financial services arena
