We are now looking for a Communications Manager to join our busy Corporate Communications team.  The successful candidate will be involved in all areas of internal and external communications within and across the Monitise Mobile Money business.  We are looking for an experienced candidate from a PR agency or journalism background to generate stories, build profiles and relationships across local, regional, national and international media. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Although the scope and focus of the day to day activities within the role will change dependent on business requirements, the following should be considered core activities:

 

  • To work with the Communications Director in executing an effective external & internal communications strategy, delivering key messages to all stakeholders
  • Effectively develop and manage key communications channels, coordinating closely with internal functions such as commercial, strategy and marketing
  • Boost employee understanding of and engagement with corporate strategy via timely and transparent  internal communications – emphasis on goals, culture, values, strategy and key metrics
  • Build and develop Monitise’s communications across all media and publications to raise the company’s profile
  • Coordinate development and management of Monitise’s corporate website, www.monitisegroup.com
  • Research and write copy for internal communications and external articles and press
  • Organise Monitise conferences and events
  • Press office management

 

Person Specification

 

Education and Qualifications

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent, preferably in communications-related subject
  • Experience working in communications and an ability to demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of communications activities – media, websites, events, social media etc

 

Experience

 

Essential

  • Press office and/or PR agency experience
  • An excellent network of media contacts and a strong background communicating with journalists
  • Proven understanding of traditional and online media

 

Desirable

  • Experience of working in mobile technology sector
  • International media relations experience
